Export

  • Right click over the calendar window and choose Manager.
  • Select Export->iCalendar Format from the File menu.
  • Save the events to a file

Transfer export.png

You can then transfer the file to the other computer or move it to your backup drive.

By default all the events in the Manager are exported but you can also select just some of the events for exporting if you don't want to save all of them.

Import

  • Right click over the calendar window and choose Manager.
  • Select Import->iCalendar Format from the File menu.
  • Select the exported events file from the file system

Transfer import.png

Backup

  • Right click over the calendar window and choose Manager.
  • Select Backup from the File menu.
  • Save the backup file to some safe place.

Make a note that all the necessary files are included in the backup file (the files with .ics extension are the most important since they contain your events and tasks).

Note: Only local events will be included in the backup file.

Restore

  • Right click over the calendar window and choose Manager.
  • Select Restore from the File menu.
  • Locate the backup file you created earlier.
  • Answer yes to the overwrite questions.

Note that if you restore the backup in a different computer all the paths must be the same as in the computer the backup was taken. If for example the user name is different you need to extract the files from the backup archive manually.

Automatic Backups

Rainlendar does automatic backups every time it is started or when the day changes. You can find the backups from the data folder.

In you are not able to restore the content directly with the "Restore"-functionality in Rainlendar you can also just extract the *.ics file from the backup archive and import it back to Rainlendar.
